Richard James Recruitment Specialists Ltd invites applications for an Assistant Manager role with our international client in non-ferrous metals trading. The role covers contract administration, logistics, and payments to support the trading team in London and overseas offices.

It demands accuracy, strong English communication, and the ability to manage complex documents and FX receivables. Ideal candidates will have experience in physical metal trading, proficiency in Excel, and SAP

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in a physical metal trading environment with exposure to Trade Operations/Contract Administration/Logistics.
• Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to deadlines.
• SAP experience is advantageous; proficient use of MS Excel and Office apps.

Responsabilités

• Manage Trade Operators and collaborate with traders in London and overseas offices.
• Maintain relationships with warehouses, suppliers, customers and service providers.
• Negotiate transportation functions with logistics providers at competitive prices.
• Assist with business development and back-office setup for minor metal trading.
• Administer Sale and Purchase contracts and related documentation.
• Arrange transportation by road, rail, barging, and sea freight; handle customs clearance.
• Process invoices and monitor payments with attention to credit controls.
• Coordinate communications with counterparties via phone, email, and letters.
• Maintain trading database and filing systems; improve workflow accuracy.
