The Metal Logistics VP is a senior-level position responsible for overseeing various physical metal positions and movements, and coordinating with stakeholders on the trading floor and beyond.
Responsibilities:
- Manage physical metal positions and movements, optimize flows to save costs, and analyze market conditions.
- Solve issues throughout the deal lifecycle by leveraging external and internal relationships.
- Coordinate on new products, structure transactions, manage trading book purchases, handle adhoc projects, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Ensure correct processing of trades and bank risk compliance, handle audit queries, and perform reconciliations.
- Collaborate with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, and Finance to ensure governance and control infrastructure.
- Promote a culture of responsible finance, good governance, supervision, expense discipline, and ethics.
- Assess risk/reward of transactions, considering the firm’s reputation.
- Adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services.
- Follow all policies and procedures related to the role.
- Obtain and maintain required registrations/licenses within the designated timeframe.
- Evaluate risks in business decisions, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and ethical standards, and escalate control issues as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a related role, with logistical/physical experience in base metals (LME/CME/others); US metals logistics experience is a bonus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines accurately.
- Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to perform well in high-stress, fast-paced environments.
- Skill in prioritizing urgent tasks.
