Job description

SCP Metal Finishing near Horsham offers high quality, skilled manual metal polishing, parts finishing, deburring, bead blasting, and vibratory finishing services for a variety of high-end clients across the south. Parts range from small intricate machined pieces for the aerospace and superyacht industry to large architectural installations.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our highly skilled team of metal finishers, as a workshop assistant or trainee metal polisher.

The role is available part time / full time or on a self-employed basis, and full training and all tools / PPE will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Parts cleaning and inspection
• Wrapping and packing
• Material handling
• Stock management
• Machine maintenance
• Parts preparation
• Deburring and basic polishing
• Workshop maintenance
• Bead blasting and linishing
• Occasional deliveries / collections from local customers

Full training to progress to a skilled metal polisher is also available.

Mandatory Requirements

• 2 years experience in a similar workshop-based role with references
• Own transport due to rural location
• Good eyesight and ability to focus on small details
• Willingness to learn and constantly progress
• Be self-motivated, punctual, and professional
• Be able to work safely around machinery

Remuneration

• £12-£15 per hour depending on skill / experience
• Up to 40 hrs/week mon - fri with overtime when available
• Holiday pay
• Free on-site parking
• All PPE and tools provided

All candidates who pass the initial interview stage will be expected to attend a 1-day unpaid trial, but travel costs will be covered. Successful candidates will be offered a contract with a 3-month probation period.
