Baltic Recruitment are recruiting a Metal Dresser for a client located in Ferryhill, County Durham. This is a Temp to Perm role working with a small team using a range of hand tools. The position involves dressing welds and delivering parts with a high-quality finish.

Applicants should have 1+ years in metal dressing/finishing and the ability to work unsupervised. Day-to-day duties include using grinders and sanding tools, with potential shift changes and on-site parking provided.

Competenze

• 1+ years’ experience in a metal dressing/finishing environment.
• Reading and understanding engineering drawings is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.

Mansioni

• Use hand tools including electric grinders, pneumatic grinders and pad sanding tools.
• Dress welds on components to prepare for painting.
• Ensure parts have a high-quality dressed finish.

Description

Baltic Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Metal Dresser, for a client located in Ferryhill. This is a Temp to Perm role. Working as part of a small team, working with a variety of hand tools, within your scope of responsibility.

Metal Dresser Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Working with a variety of hand tools including electric grinders, pneumatic grinders and pad sanding tools.
• Dressing welds on components of various shapes and sizes ready for painting.
• Ensuring parts are left with a dressed finish to a high standard.
• Working unsupervised in a team, working through various jobs without assistance.

Metal Dresser Applicants:

• Must have 1+ years’ experience of working in a metal dressing/finishing environment.
• Experience of working to and understanding engineering drawings is desirable but not essential.
• The ability to work unsupervised.

Temporary Staff:

• 38.5 hours per week
• Overtime paid at 1.5 of day rate Mon - Sat, 2.0 of day rate for Sunday

• Our client reserves the right to move to 3 shifts, with consultation. (25% shift premium: Sunday 7pm - 6am, Monday to Thursday 11pm - 6am (20 min break). Monday to Thursday - 2:30pm - 11:00pm, Friday 12:30pm - 7pm. Monday to Thursday 6:00am - 2:30pm, Friday 6:00am - 12:30pm).

Permanent Staff (once moved over from temp to perm):

Training and support provided to ensure ongoing development and progression within the business, alongside opportunities to mentor and support less experienced team members. Applicants must be 18 or over for health and safety reasons.

Initially starting on dayshift for induction and training before moving onto a 2-shift rotation. Hourly rates:

Days: £12.71

2-shift £15.25

Day Shift:

Monday to Thursday 8am - 5pm and Friday 8am - 12.30pm.

2-Shifts:

Monday to Thursday 2.30pm - 11pm and Friday 12.30pm - 7pm & Monday to Thursday 6am - 2.30pm and Friday 6am - 12.30pm.
