Adecco Group UK & Ireland is seeking a Dressing Operative (Polishing & Finishing) in Sheffield. The role involves operating polishing, linishing, and finishing machinery to ensure high-quality surface finishes on precision metal components, in a hands-on manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include reading engineering drawings, performing first-off checks, and using measuring equipment to verify dimensional accuracy, with opportunities for overtime and structured training.

Qualificações

• Proven experience in operating polishing, linishing, grinding, dressing, or metal finishing equipment.
• Familiarity with abrasive belts, polishing wheels, spindles, or similar finishing machinery.
• Competence in manual operations with hand-held finishing tools.
• Background in a manufacturing, engineering, or production environment.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings effectively.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Job Title: Dressing Operative (Polishing & Finishing)

Location: Sheffield

Salary: £29,580 per annum

Working Pattern: Full Time (38 hours per week)

Shift: Rotating

Schedule

• Week 1:
  • Monday to Thursday: 6:00am - 2:00pm
  • Friday: 6:00am - 12:00pm
• Week 2:
  • Monday to Thursday: 2:00pm - 10:00pm
  • Friday: 12:00pm - 6:00pm

What We're Looking For:

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in operating polishing, linishing, grinding, dressing, or metal finishing equipment.

Desirable

• Experience in aerospace, medical device, precision engineering, or metal component manufacturing.
• FLT licence or previous forklift experience.

• Proficiency in using measuring equipment or shadowgraphs.
