Job summary

AutoSkills United Kingdom is seeking an experienced MET Technician for a professional accident repair centre. The role focuses on removing, repairing, and refitting mechanical, electrical and trim components on accident-damaged vehicles, working to manufacturer repair methods and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has proven MET experience, solid knowledge of vehicle systems, and the ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high workmanship quality.

Qualifications

• Experience as MET Technician within an accident repair centre or bodyshop.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and trim systems in modern vehicles.
• Experience with vehicle strip and refit procedures.
• Good understanding of suspension, steering, braking and related systems.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
• Ability to work efficiently to deadlines and production targets.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Remove and refit mechanical, electrical and trim components from accident-damaged vehicles.
• Carry out strip and refit work per manufacturer repair methods and procedures.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults where required.
• Work on suspension, steering, braking and related components.
• Collaborate with Panel Technicians, Paint Technicians, Estimators and Workshop Controllers.
• Identify additional damage or repair requirements and communicate with the team.
• Complete repairs within production times while maintaining high standards.
• Follow manufacturer procedures, safety and quality standards.
