Job summary

Perfect Placement is seeking an experienced MET Technician for an established bodyshop in Woking. You will apply mechanical, electrical and trim skills to diagnose faults and fit components, while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

The role offers a 4- or 5-day week with no weekend work, on-site parking and a competitive salary. An ATA/NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds qualification, or 3+ years’ MET experience, is preferred.

• Proven MET experience with mechanical, electrical and trim fitting skills.
• Relevant qualifications or 3+ years in MET work are required.
• Ability to diagnose and work across vehicle makes and models.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate MET fitting and stripping across various models.
• Carry out diagnostic work and resolve faults accurately.
• Refurbish, strip and assemble components to standards (BSI 10125).
• Manage workload and report to workshop supervisor.
• Complete paperwork and ensure safety, quality and productivity.

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a MET Technician in Woking. This is a proactive opportunity for experienced MET Technicians seeking to join a respected accident repair centre that values quality workmanship and professional development. Duties

• Demonstrate expertise in mechanical, electrical, and trim (MET) fitting and stripping across a variety of vehicle makes and models
• Carry out diagnostic work to identify and resolve faults accurately
• Refurbish, strip, and assemble vehicle components adhering to manufacturer and BSI 10125 standards
• Manage individual workload while supporting team operations effectively
• Complete detailed paperwork and job cards accurately
• Collaborate closely with team members, including painters and panel beaters, reporting to the workshop supervisor
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and productivity within the workshop

Requirements

• Proven experience as a MET Technician with strong mechanical, electrical, and trim fitting skills
• Own tools and diagnostic equipment
• ATA/NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds qualification, or minimum of three years' relevant experience
• Valid UK driving licence
• Ability to work on a wide range of vehicle makes and models
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and a positive team attitude
