Job summary

Auto Skills UK is seeking an experienced MET Technician in Dorking. The role offers a competitive basic salary of £50,000–£60,000+ with an OTE of £65,000+, in a full-time permanent position from Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:30pm.

You will perform mechanical, electrical and trim work during vehicle repairs to ensure safety and high-quality standards in a professional accident repair environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as MET Technician in an accident repair centre or bodyshop.
• Apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Mechanical, Electrical & Trim with ongoing CPD.
• Ability to remove and refit mechanical, electrical and trim components and work safely.

Responsibilities

• Remove and refit mechanical, electrical and trim components during vehicle repairs.
• Strip vehicles to access body repair and paintwork.
• Refit components accurately after repairs.
• Identify damaged or faulty components and report additional work.
• Collaborate with bodyshop colleagues to maintain an efficient repair process.
• Follow manufacturer repair procedures and safety requirements.

THE ROLE

As an MET Technician, you will be responsible for the mechanical, electrical and trim work required during the vehicle accident repair process. Your work will help ensure vehicles are repaired safely, accurately and to the required quality standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Removing and refitting mechanical, electrical and trim components during vehicle repairs.


• Stripping vehicles to provide access for body repair and paintwork.


• Refitting components accurately following completion of repairs.


• Identifying damaged or faulty components and reporting any additional work required.


• Working with bodyshop colleagues to maintain an efficient repair process.


• Following manufacturer repair procedures and relevant safety requirements.


• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, accuracy and attention to detail.

ABOUT YOU

• Previous experience working as an MET Technician within an accident repair centre or bodyshop.


• Recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Mechanical, Electrical & Trim (NVQ / IMI / SVQ / VRQ / ATA or equivalent), with an ongoing commitment to continuous professional development.


• Confident removing and refitting mechanical, electrical and trim components.


• Good understanding of vehicle repair processes and safe working practices.


• Able to work accurately and maintain high standards of workmanship.


• A reliable, organised approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
