Job summary

Auto Skills UK is seeking an experienced MET Technician for a full-time role in West Hampstead. You will apply mechanical, electrical and trim expertise to repair vehicles to a high standard within a busy bodyshop.

The role offers an excellent earning potential with an OTE of £60,000+ and a basic salary typically £45,000-£50,000+ DOE. Standard hours are 8am-5pm, Monday to Friday, with no weekend work.

You'll join a skilled team and have opportunities to broaden bodyshop skills.

Qualifications

• MET experience within an accident repair centre or Bodyshop.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and trim knowledge.
• Experience with vehicle strip-down and refit procedures.
• Good understanding of modern vehicle repair methods and systems.
• Panel Beating experience is advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out mechanical, electrical, and trim strip and refit work on accident-damaged vehicles.
• Removing and replacing damaged components in preparation for body and paint repairs.
• Diagnosing issues with mechanical and electrical systems following vehicle damage.
• Reassembling vehicles correctly following structural and body repairs.
• Carrying out functional checks to ensure components and systems operate correctly.
• Working closely with Panel Beaters, Paint Technicians, Estimators, and other workshop colleagues.
• Ensuring repairs are completed safely and to the required quality standards.
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience as an MET (Mechanical, Electrical & Trim) Technician within an accident repair centre or Bodyshop.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and trim knowledge.
