Job summary

Aramark at Dishforth Airfield, Thirsk, YO7 3EZ is seeking a Mess Steward to provide friendly, professional food and beverage service in a military mess environment. You will help welcome customers and guests while upholding standards of service.

The role offers £12.71 per hour for 35 hours per week across 5 days in 7, with access to on-site facilities, parking, and a range of benefits. Strong communication and reliability are valued, with training and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous hospitality, catering, or customer service experience is desirable but not essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Reliable and flexible approach to work.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to high standards.

Responsibilities

• Serving food and beverages to customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Maintaining high standards of customer service.
• Assisting with hospitality and mess functions as required.
• Operating tills and handling customer transactions.
• Replenishing stock and carrying out stock rotation.
• Maintaining cleanliness in dining, bar, and service areas.
• Supporting the day-to-day running of the Mess.
• Following food safety, health & safety, and company procedures at all times.
