Redford Barracks in Edinburgh is currently looking to recruit a Mess Services Manager to lead the operation of our Officers and Sergeants Mess facilities, including food, beverage, and accommodation services. We operate these facilities in partnership with the military.

Eligibility and Security Checks:

  • You must be eligible to work in the UK and have resided in the country for more than 3 years.
  • Security checks are essential for this role.

  • This is a full-time position, 35 hours per week, working 5 days over 7, including some weekends. Shifts range from 6 am to 11 pm.

A day in the life of a Mess Services Manager:
  • Supervising services within the Officers and WO Mess.
  • Managing front-line staff, including recruitment and payroll.
  • Assisting with event preparation and service delivery.
  • Handling cash and operating tills.
  • Supervising laundry, accommodation, mess-room, and janitorial services, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Ordering and rotating stock.
Ideal candidate profile:
  • Residency in the UK for the past 3 years and legal right to work.
  • Ability to pass security vetting and DBS checks.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Experience in catering, food, hospitality, or retail, with a Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Financial awareness, including managing budgets and increasing sales.
  • Strong numeracy, communication, and computer skills.
