Sodexo is seeking a Mess Accountant for a 12-month maternity cover at WO & Sgts Mess, Swinton Barracks, Perham Down, Andover. The role focuses on accurate food accounting, stock records, and preparing financial information for reconciliation and audit.

The position is 25 hours per week with a £13.11 hourly rate. You will work closely with the Catering Manager and team, processing invoices, maintaining accounts, completing weekly reconciliations, and supporting cost control and audits.

Qualifikationen

• Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
• Experience with computerised accounting/financial systems preferred.
• Ability to work in a team and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to undertake training.

Aufgaben

• Check delivery notes and invoices, accurately recording information on the food accounting system.
• Process debits, credits and internal and external stock transfers.
• Maintain food income and expenditure accounts in line with company procedures.
• Complete weekly reconciliations, checking invoices against statements and balancing account records.
• Prepare accounts for period-end closure and reconciliation statements for review and sign-off.
• Keep financial documents organised and securely stored in line with company requirements.
• Support the receipt, storage, issuing and delivery of food supplies, following relevant legislation and company procedures.
• Work with the wider team to maintain accurate records, support cost control and prepare for audits.

Previous experience in accounts would be an advantage, as would familiarity with military Pay As You Dine operations, but neither is essential.
