Qualifications

Merlin Helicopter Force Support Coordinator
RNAS Culdrose, Cornwall
Full time, Permanent hours per week - Monday to Friday

Serco is recruiting a Merlin Helicopter Force Support Coordinator based at RNAS Culdrose in Cornwall. This role is part of the AESAS team and manages requirements for ASE/ASSE/HUSLE, modular support, and tooling to support Merlin Helicopter Force (MHF) tasking. It also oversees maintenance and control of ASE/ASSE/HUSLE, modular support, and tooling AinU’s, acting as the MHF lead JAMES Officer, SME, and mentor on site.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist MHF units with mobile equipment prep and recovery.
  • Provide SME advice and mentoring to MHF SSRs.
  • Produce standardised risk and COSHH assessments for MHF, conduct reviews with MHF SSRs.
  • Advise on booking, transportation, and packing of mobile equipment, including dangerous goods.
  • Authorize liaising with DSAE(M), CPOMER, TAS units, industry on primary/secondary purposes.
  • Sign engineering documentation as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with Sqn SSRs on ASE/GSE/HUSLE, modular support, and tooling issues, assess and act on asset movement, servicing, and escalation.
  • Assist in preparation/recovery of embarked support equipment per MHF OPS schedule.
  • Update electronic data tracking systems post-servicing.
  • Conduct mobile scissor lift and maritime staging instructions as needed.
  • Produce/review risk/COSHH assessments.
  • Notify Serco AESAS Support Manager of business risks and customer complaints.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in military/industry airworthiness environment.
  • Recent Merlin HM MK2 experience at MAM-P Authority Level G.
  • Access to RESOLVE, JAMES, GOLDesp, MJDI, CIETP systems.
  • FGSSC or equivalent qualification.
  • Servicing on ASE/GSE/HUSLE equipment; certified in Mobile Scissor Lift and Maritime Staging training; ISO packer; Risk Assessor; Tool Controller.
  • Completed MOD, NCHQ, local training relevant to civilian contractors at RNAS Culdrose MMO.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety, COSHH, Tool Control, Engineering, Asset Management Systems.
  • Maintenance Human Factors Course completed.
  • Understanding of Airworthiness Engineering Safety and Compliance (MAA, MAOS).
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, with initiative and efficiency.
