Job summary

The Engage Partnership Recruitment is seeking an experienced M&A Finance Manager for a major financial services client. The role spans the full acquisition lifecycle, from evaluation through deal execution to post-deal integration, offering end-to-end exposure and strategic influence.

You will work directly with senior finance leaders and investment stakeholders, taking ownership of accounting, technical papers and transaction documentation in a high-growth environment.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA or equivalent.
  • Experience in Transaction Services, Deals Advisory, Audit or Corporate Finance.
  • Strong IFRS knowledge, especially IFRS 3.
  • Experience supporting acquisitions or integration activities.
  • Ability to analyse complex financial information.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Commercial mindset with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Assess quality of earnings, working capital and net debt positions.
  • Identify accounting, tax, balance sheet and control risks in target businesses.
  • Advise on transaction structures and SPA accounting considerations.
  • Prepare acquisition accounting under IFRS for complex deals.
  • Lead Purchase Price Allocation (PPA) assessments and valuation accounting.
  • Support fair value assessments of acquired intangibles and goodwill.
  • Prepare technical accounting papers and transaction documentation.
  • Manage accounting for deferred, contingent and earn-out arrangements.
  • Lead finance integration activities after acquisitions.
  • Support Group reporting, consolidations, audit requirements and disclosures.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across Finance, Legal, Corporate Development and Operations.

We're partnering with a highly respected financial services organisation undergoing significant growth through acquisition. As part of their expanding corporate development and finance function, they're looking for an experienced M&A Finance Manager to play a pivotal role across the full acquisition lifecycle.

This is a rare opportunity to move beyond traditional due diligence work and take ownership of transactions from evaluation and deal execution through to purchase price allocation, technical accounting and post-deal integration.

You'll work directly with senior finance leaders, investment stakeholders and executive decision-makers, helping drive strategic growth across the business.

The Role

You’ll hold a key finance role across acquisitions and disposals, providing financial, accounting and commercial insight throughout the deal lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing robust technical accounting papers and transaction documentation
  • Managing accounting for deferred, contingent and earn-out arrangements
  • Leading finance integration activities following acquisitions
  • Supporting Group reporting, consolidations, audit requirements and transaction disclosures
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders across Finance, Legal, Corporate Development and Operations
About You

We're looking for an ambitious and commercially minded qualified accountant who combines strong technical expertise with a genuine interest in M&A and corporate growth.

  • ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification
  • Significant experience within Transaction Services, Deals Advisory, Audit or Corporate Finance
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 3 and acquisition accounting
  • Experience supporting acquisitions, transaction accounting or integration activities
  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex financial information
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Commercial mindset with excellent attention to detail
Highly Desirable:
  • Hands-on experience with Purchase Price Allocation (PPA)
  • Exposure to valuation methodologies and intangible asset accounting
  • Experience working within an acquisitive organisation
  • Post-qualified experience within a Big 4 or Top 10 practice environment
