Job summary

Finatal is partnering with a high-growth platform to hire an M&A Associate in London. You will own diligence and execution workstreams on smaller acquisitions while supporting larger transformational deals.

Build pipelines through market mapping and target prioritisation, and conduct rigorous financial, strategic analyses to guide investment decisions. You will develop financial models and support due diligence across commercial, legal, and operational teams, preparing materials for investment

Qualifications

• 2–4 years' experience in M&A or related fields (e.g., Private Equity, Corporate Development).
• Strong financial modelling and commercial assessment skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Experience engaging with founders, advisors and senior stakeholders.
• Experience in software/tech, SaaS or recurring-revenue businesses is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage acquisition pipelines through market mapping and target prioritisation.
• Conduct financial, strategic, and commercial analyses of opportunities.
• Develop financial models and support due diligence by teams across functions.

• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders through transaction processes to close.

What you'll do

• Own diligence and execution workstreams on smaller acquisitions, while providing second-chair support on larger transformational transactions
• Build and manage acquisition pipelines through market mapping, target identification, and prioritisation activities
• Conduct financial, strategic, and commercial analysis to assess acquisition opportunities and investment attractiveness
• Develop financial models and support commercial, financial, legal, and operational due diligence processes
• Prepare investment materials including acquisition cases, deal memoranda, valuation analysis, and strategic recommendations
• Coordinate internal stakeholders and external advisors throughout transaction processes through to completion
• Support post-acquisition planning and value creation initiatives, working alongside portfolio management and leadership teams
• Contribute to the ongoing refinement of the firm's acquisition strategy and market expansion efforts

What we're looking for

• 2-4 years' experience in M&A, Private Equity, Corporate Development, Investment Banking, Transaction Services, or an equivalent transactional environment.
• Strong financial modelling, analytical, and commercial assessment capabilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesise complex information into clear recommendations
• Confidence engaging with founders, advisors, and senior stakeholders
• An intellectually curious and commercially minded individual who can adapt their thinking to different acquisition strategies and value creation models
• Ability to balance detailed execution with broader strategic thinking
• Experience within software, technology, SaaS, or recurring-revenue businesses
