Job description

We are working with a well-established supplier within the fashion industry who are seeking a dynamic and experienced Merchandising Manager with a strong background in supply chain management, particularly within the ladieswear sector.

This hybrid role requires someone capable of overseeing day-to-day operations in a small, fast-paced office environment acting as a key support to senior leadership. You will need a solid understanding of critical path, lead times, costings and production.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Serve as the primary liaison for customers on matters of stock flow, order progress, and factory capacity.
  2. Maintain daily contact with international sourcing offices, mills, and factories.
  3. Maintain and update critical path software and monitor shipments to ensure timelines are met.
  4. Oversee the accuracy and feasibility of commitments made by account managers and designers to ensure consistent delivery.
  5. Provide timely updates to customers regarding order and development progress.
  6. Attend customer meetings as required and build long-term, strategic relationships.
  7. Oversee all stages from order placement through to sealed sample approvals to ensure timely delivery.
  8. Monitor sample and lab dip progress, and coordinate resolution of issues with factories.
  9. Generate cost sheets, place and track orders, and maintain accurate records.
  10. Act as the central point of contact for staff, ensuring smooth office operations.
  11. Foster a positive, supportive work culture within the team.
Person Specifications:
  1. Experience in a merchandising role within a fashion supplier environment.
  2. Solid experience working with Far East manufacturing bases, especially Bangladesh.
  3. Excellent understanding of supply chain and production timelines.
  4. Strong commercial acumen and customer-facing experience, with confidence managing senior stakeholders.
  5. High proficiency in Excel and other IT systems; strong numerical skills essential.
  6. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  7. Proactive, enthusiastic, and highly organised.
