Job summary

TAGGED RESOURCES works with an established manufacturing company in Manchester seeking a Merchandiser / Planner to bolster the Merchandise Team. You will forecast within product ranges, manage stock and launches, and develop supplier relationships to drive sales and profitability.

The role involves collaborating on strategic planning, optimizing product performance, and maintaining lead times across the supply chain. Hybrid working and development opportunities are available.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Merchandising / Demand Planning role with strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills, ability to manipulate data and build reports.
  • Knowledge of forecasting systems
  • Ability to establish, develop and maintain supplier and customer relationships with professionalism.
  • Established decision making skills with the ability to prioritise and manage workload accordingly.

Responsibilities

  • Accurate forecasting within the designated product range based on trend/sales analysis.
  • Maximise on sales opportunities through driving additional volume into stores at key event periods and clearing overstocks where possible.
  • Where applicable manage essential product holdings at the factory to ensure lead times are maintained.
  • Full discontinued strategy done biannually to ensure proactive reduction of losses where possible.
  • Agreeing new launch estimates with the Merchandise manager, and customer and placing orders for the season accordingly.
  • Attend weekly critical path meetings with the technical team to ensure sealing is on track, and shipment requested for the initial orders can be achieved.
  • Liaising with the logistics team to aid with the planning of intake / distribution.
  • Full review of products following launch to ensure all lines are live and on sale.
  • Management of the supply base to ensure that all deliveries arrive at the specified time, being fully aware of any delays or stock shortages. Liaise with customer as and when required.
  • Complete monthly forward estimates for the supplier’s production managing product planning to service lead times.
  • Keep up to date with all customer reports and customer communication, including stock availability reports, new launch reports, stock visibility reports, high/low demand to forecast, forecast accuracy report etc.
  • Complete regular category reviews.
  • Liaise with the technical department regarding product development.
  • Support Design team with sales analysis to help with decision making on new products.
