Merchandiser

Location: Oldham

Salary: Competitive

Our client is Leeds' biggest and best decorative lighting store, with a strong and growing team of dedicated individuals committed to providing a world-class shopping experience. To achieve this, in-store staff must be motivated, confident, excellent communicators, and passionate about a career in sales.

Working closely with the Sales Management team, your role will be varied and challenging, encompassing the following responsibilities:

1. Forward planning stocks for all customers.
2. Collaborating with Key Account Managers to meet customer forecast/requirements.
3. Distributing stocks efficiently across forecast channels to meet all customer requirements.
4. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date forecast channels on internal systems.
5. Checking and reviewing lines flagged as exceeding forecast quantities.
6. Coordinating stock orders for promotions with internal departments.
7. Monitoring and reporting on underperformance or clearance.
8. Raising factory orders and collaborating to manage minimum order quantities (MOQ).
9. Consulting with overseas factories to ensure purchase orders are manufactured within the agreed lead times.
10. Maintaining accurate lead times and minimums from factories.
11. Working with the shipping department and warehouse to optimize container fills and deliveries.
12. Ensuring stock is correctly located within the warehouse.
13. Tracking forward sales orders and planning rebuys accordingly.
14. Collaborating with the Product team to review the weekly Critical Path for new season launch dates.
15. Highlighting slow-moving or aged stock.
16. Providing on-demand reports as required by Managers or Directors.
17. Identifying overstock, understock, best sellers, and slow sellers.

Skills and Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Merchandiser or Assistant role within fashion or retail sectors.
• Advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, IF functions, SUMIF).
• High accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience in trend and forecast analysis within a retail or wholesale environment, reporting directly to the MD.
• Ability to interpret information and make decisions to maximize sales and stock efficiency.
• Strong understanding of range planning, demand forecasting, and stock management.
