Reports into: Head of Merchandising

Contract Type: Full time, working 37.5 hours per day, 5 days per week]

Location: Hybrid, working 3 days a week in our offices based in Old Street, London

About You

As a Merchandiser you will be working closely with our Head of Merchandising to support the growth of Oner Active. We are looking for a candidate already operating at an experienced Merchandiser level within a fast-paced retail business, experience in DTC private label is a must. When you're not busy planning and managing stock levels, you'll also be looking after intake and focusing on sales performance. You'll be part of the go-to team for many other business areas and should have experience in building cross-functional relationships and multitasking.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Own and manage the WSSI, consistently reviewing performance and extracting key insights to inform trading decisions
  • Lead the planning of budgets by category, including option count and depth of buy, aligned with the company's overarching commercial and financial objectives
  • Monitor stock levels to ensure timely product launches, maintain availability of core continuity lines, and proactively highlight and mitigate any risks
  • Regularly review sales forecasts based on performance, taking appropriate action to re-forecast when necessary
  • Analyse trading data to identify best and worst sellers, making data-driven recommendations for in-season actions, including restocks or markdowns
  • Support the maintenance of buying and gross profit margins, ensuring alignment with financial targets
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the business via the Head of Merchandising to drive growth and optimise performance
  • Foster strong, collaborative relationships across merchandising, buying, and all key business functions, teamwork is central to our success
  • Maintain a high level of commercial awareness, considering customer behaviour, competitor activity, and wider market trends
  • Oversee intake and stock management processes and act as the primary point of contact for all supplier-related matters
  • Line manage and support the development of the Assistant Merchandiser and Merchandise Administrator, championing growth and performance
  • Create and maintain ad hoc and regular reports to support trading decisions


You'll need to have:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Merchandiser role, ideally within an ecommerce environment
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to collaborate effectively across all levels of the business
  • Proven ability to perform under pressure, with strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Highly numerate with a keen eye for data, able to analyse and synthesise information from multiple sources
  • Commercially minded with a clear understanding of trading performance and customer behaviour
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, support, and motivate a team to meet both individual and collective targets
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to create and interpret reports with ease
  • As a growing start-up, flexibility and a hands-on approach are essential, you're someone who's willing to step outside of your role to support the wider business when needed
