Job summary

TRP Recruitment ltd in London is seeking an experienced Merchandiser to join a reputable global company licensing world-renowned sportswear brands. You will play a key role in supporting product, inventory, and trading decisions through detailed analysis, planning, and reporting.

You will collaborate with marketing and operations to ensure timely market launches, develop assortment plans, and drive performance across ecommerce channels.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in merchandising, business, retail management or fashion-related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into commercial action.
  • Experience in fashion, sportswear, lifestyle retail preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare weekly, quarterly and seasonal trade and inventory performance reports for the team.
  • Conduct post-event and promotional analyses to identify successes and opportunities.
  • Create seasonal product reviews highlighting successes, underperformers and future opportunities.
  • Perform monthly website performance analyses and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis to support business decisions.
  • Conduct competitor analysis to inform product, pricing and promotions.
  • Forecast seasonal trends and support product development recommendations.
  • Develop assortment plans aligned with Open-To-Buy (OTB) parameters.
  • Prepare product selections and place orders per OTB budgets and launch objectives.
  • Prepare seasonal buy review presentations and identify gaps in buys and ranges.
  • Manage product gaps and cancellations after orders to minimise stock issues.
  • Collaborate with marketing on launch plans and product information for uploads.
  • Coordinate with operations to monitor delivery and market launches.
  • Evaluate in-season buying opportunities based on sales and inventory.
  • Oversee product allocations across ecommerce channels and manage replenishment.
  • Prepare monthly inventory progression reports and monitor inventory covers.

An exciting opportunity to join a reputable global company licensing world-renowned sportswear brands, based at their London office are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Merchandiser to join their growing team. You will play a key role in supporting product, inventory, and trading decisions through detailed analysis, planning, and reporting.

Main Responsibilities Will Include
  • Preparing weekly, quarterly, and seasonal trade and inventory performance reports to provide actionable insights to the wider team.
  • Conducting comprehensive post-event and promotional analyses, identifying successes and opportunities for improvement.
  • Compiling detailed seasonal product reviews, highlighting key successes, underperforming products, and opportunities for future seasons.
  • Conducting monthly website performance analyses and recommending corrective actions where required.
  • Providing ad hoc analysis and reporting to support business decision-making.
  • Conducting competitor analysis to support product, pricing, and promotional strategies, identifying market opportunities and gaps.
  • Forecasting seasonal trends and providing recommendations to support future product development.

Person Specification
  • Experience within merchandising, inventory management, retail planning, buying, or retail analytics.
  • Degree in Merchandising, Business Administration, Retail Management, Fashion Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working within a fashion, sportswear, lifestyle, or retail environment would be advantageous.
  • Experience using Shopify is desirable.Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret data to support commercial decision-making.
  • Good understanding of merchandise planning, inventory management, forecasting, and Open-To-Buy (OTB) processes.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
  • Comfortable working within a fast-paced environment.
  • Commercially aware with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
  • Passion for sportswear, streetwear, fashion.
