Job summary

Browns Fashion, part of the Farfetch group, is hiring an Interim Merchandiser for a 12-month fixed-term contract to deliver revenue, intake and sell-through targets across all channels, starting ASAP. You’ll partner with Buying on annual strategies and OTB, trade in-season, manage WSSI budgets, control inventory and stock flow, and collaborate cross-functionally to optimise the Browns offer.

The role is hybrid (3 days in office, 2 from home) at our London offices; advanced Excel and analytical

Qualifications

  • Background in merchandiser roles within luxury or premium fashion retail.
  • Experience owning a business area and delivering against targets.
  • Advanced Excel with pivot tables and data modelling.
  • Autonomous and proactive with strong ownership.
  • Commercial and analytical mindset with solid judgment.

MERCHANDISING

We support Browns to maximise commercial opportunities through effective management of Browns inventory, driving sales and profit through improved trading and planning, and we do this by supporting all channels across our store, brownsfashion.com and Farfetch.

LONDON

Our London Head Office is based on Old Street, London's tech hub; our open plan space is ideal for collaborative working and sharing ideals. We also have a large outdoor terrace which is the perfect spot to have a team lunch or host an event. We also have a home in the form of our retail boutique at Browns Brook Street in Mayfair.

THE ROLE

The Interim Merchandiser will be responsible for delivering revenue, intake and sell through targets for their department, across all channels, in-line with the Browns vision. You will be able to join us on a 12 month fixed term contract, ideally able to start as soon as possible.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Strategy & OTB Management: Partner closely with the Buying team to build and execute annual
    strategies and Open-to-Buy (OTB) budgets in line with Browns' KPIs. Proactively manage and trade
    OTB in-season to maximize commercial opportunities and mitigate risks. Manage core forecasts to
    maintain optimal stock levels on key styles.
  • In-Season Trading: Analyse weekly departmental performance and leverage key trading levers to
    drive revenue. Present in weekly and monthly trade meetings, highlighting key insights and actions to
    senior managers
  • WSSI Management: own Dept WSSI Budget and forecast. Provide realistic end of season view to
    wider business to identify sales or stock risks with actions to drive revenue / sell thru.
  • Inventory & Intake Control: Strategically manage intake and stock flow to ensure we hit revenue and
    stock turn targets, ensuring a stellar assortment in our boutiques.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other functions to drive multi-channel
    revenue, partnering with store and Farfetch to optimize the Browns product offering
  • Markdown Management: Own the end-of-season markdown process for your department, working
    closely with wider teams to clear stock efficiently while protecting profit margins.
  • Process Improvement & Upskilling: Act as the voice of merchandising on ad-hoc projects to optimize
    the product lifecycle, function and wider business. Play an active role in training and upskilling the
    wider merchandising team.
  • Team management: develop and mentor assistant merchandiser
WHO YOU ARE
  • Background: Proven experience operating at a Merchandiser or Junior Merchandiser level, ideally
    within a luxury, premium, or fast-paced multi-brand fashion retail environment
  • Department Management: Proven experience owning area of business and being soley responsible for
    execution of strategy to hit targets. Experience managing WSSI to accurately forecast sales, stock levels,
    markdown impact and margin.
  • Advanced Excel: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data
    modelling) is essential for daily analysis
  • Highly Driven & Autonomous: You are self-motivated, take true ownership of your department, and
    thrive when given the freedom to execute.
  • Commercial & Analytical: You are a commercial thinker with exceptional data and analytical
    capabilities and sound business judgment
  • Action-Oriented: Highly proactive, accountable, and focused on finding solutions in a fast-paced
    environment
  • Collaborative Communicator: You possess strong stakeholder management and influencing skills,
    with the ability to communicate with clarity
  • Organised: Able to prioritize seamlessly and stay structured amidst shifting priorities
