Merchandiser - Maternity Cover

We are pleased to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Merchandiser to join our successful Merchandising team at DCK in Billericay. This is a 12-month maternity cover role.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Collaborate with Buying, Design, and other teams to define and develop the brand's vision and strategy, proposing and planning new initiatives aligned with the critical path.
  2. Manage critical path timelines and key milestones, ensuring deadlines are met, and maintain effective communication with the Merchandise Manager.
  3. Drive departmental strategy with a focus on profitability, aligning with DCK and Host strategies where appropriate.
  4. Review the P&L regularly and use analytics to propose actions to maximize brand potential.
  5. Establish clear and profitable assortment plans, including BEVs and phasing, balancing newness, consolidated lines, and sell-through, considering sales and profit density.
  6. Sign off on strategy and budgets with senior management.
  7. Ensure accurate pre-season planning based on strategy and targets, relaying opportunities and risks with an action plan.
  8. Use data to quantify Building Blocks and communicate them confidently to the business.
  9. Complete seasonal planning thoroughly, optimizing options, newness, and grading for profitability growth.
  10. Maximize space and options, highlighting risks and opportunities with clear actions.
  11. Manage seasonal OTB, devising and communicating option counts and phasing.
  12. Set stock requirements to meet sales and profit plans, aligning with strategy and stock targets.
  13. Conduct in-season forecasting, reacting to trading conditions, and adjusting OTB/OTC accordingly.
  14. Highlight margin risks with Buying and suggest corrective actions.
  15. Gather and analyze market and customer insights to inform decisions.
  16. Use analytics for opportunity identification and business optimization.
  17. Reforecast sales, stock, and markdown plans in WSSI and line cards.
  18. Manage and develop the team, ensuring clear priorities and effective working methods.
  19. Promote a culture of transparency and continuous improvement, providing coaching and feedback.
  20. Lead by example, embodying DCK’s values.
  21. Conduct regular 1-2-1 meetings and develop team members for future roles.
