A leading company in the FMCG sector is seeking a Flower Merchandise Planner to manage the end-to-end supply plan for their floral products. The successful candidate will work closely with buying teams and suppliers to enhance quality and availability while optimizing costs, contributing to a collaborative and sustainable environment.
As our Flower Merchandise Planner, working as part of the planning team, you’ll own the end-to-end supply plan for our cut flower and gifting ranges, steering them from field to vase while protecting freshness, profitability, and joy for our customers. Working closely with Buying, Demand Planning for flowers, and our growers, you’ll ensure the right flowers reach the right customers at the perfect moment.
What you’ll be doing:
Plan and control seasonal flower ranges and gifting bouquets, sourcing from the UK and globally. This includes finished goods and raw materials at Myton Horticulture sites and remote grower/supplier locations.
Collaborate with internal teams to manage stock, availability, waste/shrink, and markdowns for all products and customers.
Balance availability, waste, and markdown targets through precise management.
Hold regular meetings with flower growers and suppliers alongside the Head of Flower Buying, serving as the main contact for daily order planning.
Work with the demand planning team to monitor forecasts versus actual orders and develop long-term forecasts shared in regular review meetings.
Coordinate with the Head of Flower Buying to establish supplier KPI meetings and monitor performance.
Ensure all planning administration is current, well-organized, and accessible to the team, with a focus on system improvements.
Partner with growers and internal teams to maintain quality, freshness, and sustainability throughout the supply chain.
You will have:
Experience in planning flowers or other FMCG categories with limited product life.
Strong data analysis skills, including familiarity with sales curves, WSSI/OTB, and root cause analysis.
Confidence in negotiation to secure availability and value, especially during peak seasons.
A passion for horticulture and sustainability that inspires colleagues and suppliers alike.
In return for your hard work, you will receive:
Join Myton Food Group, part of our business that supports manufacturing while maintaining strong ties with Morrisons Supermarkets. We’re proud of our legacy, working with highly valued suppliers and focusing on quality. With 19 sites across the UK, we produce a range of foods and floral products. We foster a collaborative team environment and invite you to learn more about us on our website.
