We are seeking talented professionals to join our Scotland team. The successful candidate will deliver cost consultancy services for a key client within our MEP team, reporting to the account director on high-profile projects within occupied buildings. The role involves significant client interaction and site presence, with a focus on delivering clear, confident advice. Opportunities to engage in broader projects are also available.

Our MEP team handles a high volume of work, offering comprehensive cost management and contract administration services, providing direct client-facing experience not often available in traditional roles.

Your core duties will involve:

  • Leading the preparation of cost plans and estimates from inception to feasibility stages
  • Presenting and explaining approaches to project risks and uncertainties
  • Leading procurement activities and contract formation
  • Managing post-contract delivery processes
  • Shaping project strategy and client interactions
  • Preparing and managing cost plans, estimates, and procurement documentation
  • Managing post-contract work including change control, valuations, and final accounts
  • Providing clear cost advice and reporting
  • Conducting tender analysis for contractor selection and benchmarking
  • Setting objectives and working proactively as part of a team
  • Maintaining effective communication and liaising with managers for financial control
  • Representing the company professionally and building strong client relationships

What skills and attributes are we looking for:

  • BSc in quantity surveying or equivalent
  • Membership of RICS (MRICS) preferred
  • Experience within a global construction consultancy
  • Pre- and post-contract experience including cost planning and procurement
  • Strong technical writing and client-facing skills
  • Organized, diligent, proactive, assertive, and commercially aware
  • Team player with a positive attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful, and flexible
  • Leadership potential for personal development
  • Experience with NEC contracts is a plus
