Job summary

Brandon James Ltd is seeking an MEP Quantity Surveyor to join a London-based specialist cost consultancy. The role focuses on commercial management of mechanical and electrical works from tender through final account.

The successful candidate will work with clients, design teams, contractors and subcontractors to keep MEP packages within budget, while expanding technical expertise and client exposure in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related construction discipline.
• Experience with mechanical and electrical packages.
• UK consultancy, contractor, or specialist subcontractor background preferred.
• Solid understanding of pre- and post-contract cost management.
• Strong numerical reporting and communication skills.
• Ability to manage workload across multiple projects.
• MRICS or working towards chartership is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare MEP cost plans, estimates, and tender documentation.
• Review mechanical and electrical contractor submissions.
• Manage valuations, variations, change control, and final accounts.
• Produce commercial reports and cost forecasts.
• Attend client meetings, design reviews, and site inspections.
• Provide procurement and cost advice across building services packages.
• Identify and manage commercial risk with project teams.
