Job summary

Pinnacle Construction Professionals Ltd in Manchester is seeking a skilled MEP Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a full-time basis. You will work with project and commercial teams to manage cost-related aspects of Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health services on site.

You will assess subcontractor accounts, handle variations, prepare interim and final payment applications, review drawings and specs, and contribute to cost forecasting and risk management.

Qualifications

• Strong MEP quantity surveying skills including measurement, estimating, cost planning, and valuation of Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health services.
• Experience in contract administration and commercial management, including managing variations, change control, subcontract accounts, and final accounts.
• Proficiency in construction documentation and tools, such as drawings, specifications, bills of quantities, and relevant quantity surveying or estimating software.
• Knowledge of UK construction standards, procurement routes, contract forms (NEC, JCT), and cost control principles in building services projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage all cost-related aspects of MEP services across projects.
• Assess subcontractor accounts and prepare interim/final payment applications.
• Handle variations and change control to protect project commercial position.
• Support contract administration and review drawings/specifications for cost accuracy.
• Monitor cost forecasting and commercial risk, with regular reporting to stakeholders.

Role Description

The MEP Quantity Surveyor will be a full-time role based in Manchester, working closely with project and commercial teams to manage all cost-related aspects of Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health services. The role involves assessing and agreeing subcontractor accounts, managing variations and change control, and preparing interim and final payment applications. The MEP Quantity Surveyor will support contract administration, review drawings and specifications, and collaborate with engineers, planners, and project managers to ensure accurate cost forecasting and commercial risk management. Regular reporting, measurement on-site, and maintaining clear documentation and communication with internal and external stakeholders are key aspects of the position.

Qualifications

• Strong MEP quantity surveying skills, including measurement, estimating, cost planning, and valuation of Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health services.
• Experience in contract administration and commercial management, including managing variations, change control, subcontract accounts, and final accounts.
• Proficiency in construction documentation and tools, such as drawings, specifications, bills of quantities, and relevant quantity surveying or estimating software.
• Knowledge of UK construction standards, procurement routes, contract forms (e.g., NEC, JCT), and cost control principles in building services projects.
• Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and reporting skills, with attention to detail and the ability to interpret technical information accurately.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities, including collaboration with multidisciplinary project teams and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work in Manchester, manage own workload, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing project priorities.
• Previous experience in MEP or building services within main contractor, subcontractor, or consultancy environments is highly beneficial
