A leading engineering contractor is seeking an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Hull. The ideal candidate will manage all cost elements related to mechanical, electrical, and public health within a large-scale battery plant project. Responsibilities include procurement management, preparing valuations, and collaborating with various teams to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.

Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of experience on battery plant or similar large-scale construction projects.
  • Resident within a commutable distance of Hull.

Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement of MEP packages and manage subcontractor accounts.
  • Prepare and submit accurate interim valuations and cost/value reconciliations.

MEP Quantity Surveyor - Battery Plant, Hull

We are partnering with a well-renowned engineering contractor with a presence across sectors such as life sciences, commercial, power stations, advanced technology, and data centres. Due to continued success, they are looking to strengthen their team with an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor in Hull.

Responsibilities
  • MEP Cost Management: Manage all mechanical, electrical, and public health (MEP) cost elements, ensuring accurate forecasting, cost tracking, and adherence to budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Procurement & Subcontract Management: Lead procurement of MEP packages, including tender analysis, contract preparation, and negotiations. Manage subcontractor accounts, ensuring timely payments and effective change control.
  • Valuations & Cost Reporting: Prepare and submit accurate interim valuations, final accounts, and monthly cost/value reconciliations, providing clear commercial insights to the project team and stakeholders.
  • Change Management & Variations: Identify, assess, and manage variations and change orders, ensuring all changes are tracked, justified, and agreed upon with clients and subcontractors.
  • Collaboration & Compliance: Work closely with design, planning, and delivery teams to ensure cost control aligns with project progress. Ensure all MEP works meet technical specifications, contractual terms, and industry standards.
