Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is seeking a Project Planner to move from site-based roles into strategic planning. You’ll work with project delivery teams to develop and maintain construction programmes, using on-site experience to identify risks and opportunities and help teams make informed decisions.

Ideal candidates include electricians, pipe fitters, 4th year MEP apprentices or engineers with strong sequencing knowledge and good IT skills; you’ll be supported to develop specialist planning skills.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering mechanical or electrical installation works on construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills; proactive and collaborative.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and improve construction programmes with project delivery teams.
• Identify risks and opportunities; monitor progress and milestones.
• Support project teams in making informed decisions based on planning insights.
• Move from site-based role into a strategic project planning function.
