Job Description:

THE ROLE

My client seeks an MEP Project Manager who is ideally mechanically biased to join their data centre consulting team, based in Frankfurt, Germany, with significant travel within the EU.

You will help deliver large-scale data centre projects, ensuring all mechanical services are designed, built, and maintained to high standards.

The first project is in Italy, so travel across Europe will be expected.

You will work closely with clients, contractors, and consultants to manage all phases of mechanical system implementation, from planning to completion.

You will oversee the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems, including HVAC, chillers, pumps, etc., for data centre projects.

You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical and structural engineers, to ensure seamless project execution.

You will manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.

You will ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.

THE COMPANY

My client is a large construction consultancy providing Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, and Project Management services for projects worldwide.

This role is for the EU offices, with projects across Europe. Although Frankfurt will be your base, the first project is in Italy.

THE CANDIDATE

You should have an HNC, BSc, MSc, or similar engineering-based Project Management qualification.

You must have a background as a Building Services Engineer (Mechanical & Electrical).

Chartered status is a plus.

You need proven experience as an MEP Project Manager, especially in mechanical services for large industrial projects. Data centre experience is preferred, but experience in complex industrial systems for refineries, power plants, or manufacturing facilities is also valuable.

Excellent English skills are required for this international team. Knowledge of Italian or German is beneficial but not essential.

EU passport is preferred, but UK candidates with the right experience will be considered.

Significant experience managing data centre projects from design through construction and handover is required.

Strong client-facing skills and the ability to attract new clients are important.

Good pre- and post-contract project management experience from inception to completion is necessary.

Salary ranges from Euro 90,000 to Euro 115,000 or more, depending on experience, plus benefits.
