THE ROLE
My client seeks an electrically biased MEP Project Manager to join their data centre consulting team in Frankfurt, Germany, with significant travel within the EU.
Your responsibilities include ensuring all electrical services are designed, built, and maintained to the highest standards on large-scale data centre projects.
The first project is in Italy, so travel across Europe will be expected.
You will work closely with clients, contractors, and consultants to manage all phases of mechanical system implementation, from planning to completion.
You will oversee the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems, including generators, UPS, switchgear, and high-voltage distribution.
You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical and structural engineers, to ensure seamless project execution.
You will manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
ABOUT THE COMPANY
The client is a large construction consultancy providing Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, and Project Management services worldwide.
This role is based in the EU, with projects across Europe. Although Frankfurt is your base, the first project is in Italy.
Candidate Requirements
You should have an HNC, BSc, MSc, or similar engineering-based qualification in Project Management.
Having a background as a Building Services Engineer (Mechanical & Electrical) is essential.
Chartered status is preferred.
You must have proven experience as an MEP Project Manager, particularly with electrical services for large industrial projects. Data Centre experience is a plus, but experience with complex industrial systems in refineries, power plants, or manufacturing facilities is also valuable.
Excellent English communication skills are required for working with an international team. Knowledge of Italian or German is advantageous but not essential.
EU passport holders are preferred, but UK candidates with the right experience will also be considered.
Extensive experience managing projects from initial design through construction and handover is necessary.
Strong communication skills for dealing with an international team are essential.
Experience with pre- and post-contract project management from inception to completion is required.
The salary range is approximately Euro 90,000 to Euro 115,000 or more, depending on experience, plus benefits.
