Working on behalf of a major energy and infrastructure delivery partner to NHS Wales
Mech Electrics are working in partnership with a long-established M&E client at the forefront of public sector decarbonisation. They are playing a lead role in delivering progressive, sustainable upgrades across NHS sites in Wales with investment planned across a 10+ year horizon.
This is a career-defining opportunity to contribute to the decentralisation and modernisation of Wales public healthcare infrastructure through structured, long-term capital works.
The Role
As Project Manager, you'll take ownership of works packages on a regionally focused site within the North of Wales. These projects will evolve over time, beginning with immediate low-carbon measures and progressing toward full energy centre solutions.
Responsibilities Include:
Lead the end-to-end delivery of energy efficiency and infrastructure upgrade projects (typically £7 8M).
Oversee subcontractor performance and on-site project coordination.
Manage stakeholder relationships and communicate progress to the client team.
Work alongside design, estimating and operational leads during IGP/pre-construction phases.
Ensure adherence to NHS guidelines, H&S legislation, and public sector protocols.
Input into long-term planning as the programme evolves (e.g. heat pumps, solar integration, de-steaming, etc.).
What We re Looking For:
A Project Manager with strong mechanical or electrical bias and experience on public sector or complex building services projects.
Prior exposure to decarbonisation, healthcare, or energy centre schemes beneficial.
Excellent communication and programme management skills.
Based in or willing to travel to West/North Wales as required.
These are long-term roles, designed to deliver across multiple stages from early wins like LED/insulation upgrades through to the transformation of how NHS Wales consumes and generates energy.
