Type: Permanent or Contract

About the Role We’re supporting a highly regarded building services consultancy in the search for an experienced MEP Lead to join their team on a flagship project in Stevenage.

This is a pivotal role for a confident and technically strong professional who can take full ownership of MEP delivery from early-stage coordination through to commissioning and handover. You’ll act as the primary point of contact for all mechanical, electrical, and public health systems — ensuring they’re integrated, compliant, and aligned with the project’s performance goals.

Whether you're from a contracting or consultancy background, this position offers the opportunity to influence and lead the full lifecycle of technically complex commercial and mixed-use projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the coordination, planning, and delivery of all MEP services on site
  • Review and manage MEP design deliverables, ensuring buildability and compliance
  • Act as the technical interface between design, construction, and commissioning teams
  • Oversee programme management of MEP installations and track progress against milestones
  • Chair technical and coordination meetings with consultants, contractors, and clients
  • Monitor installation quality and ensure alignment with commissioning strategy
  • Ensure MEP systems meet compliance, sustainability, and operational performance targets
  • Support the handover process, including soft landings and technical documentation review

Requirements

  • Strong background in MEP project delivery, ideally with experience on commercial or mixed-use developments
  • Demonstrable leadership on site-based MEP coordination and project delivery
  • Confident managing multiple stakeholders including contractors, consultants, and client teams
  • Excellent understanding of mechanical, electrical, and public health system integration
  • Familiar with commissioning processes and lifecycle delivery
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Able to work full-time on site in St Albans, with occasional wider travel if required

Desirable

  • Experience delivering projects from pre-construction through to post-occupancy
  • Knowledge of commissioning management tools and methodologies
  • Strong documentation/reporting experience using MS Project, Excel, and relevant BIM platforms

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive salary of £95,000 – £100,000, depending on experience
  • Flexible engagement: Permanent or Contract basis
  • Opportunity to work on a major UK development with a forward-thinking consultancy
  • Clear progression path within a technically focused, quality-driven environment
  • Exposure to high-profile clients and innovative, sustainable building systems
