Our client seeks a dynamic and mechanically biased MEP Project Manager to join their team, operating within a dynamic environment. This role entails overseeing projects in and around London, focusing on commercial fit-out and residential markets. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring project profitability and success.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and report on all contractual and commercial aspects of MEP projects.
- Plan engineering resources, site management, and CAD requirements with a focus on mechanical systems.
- Develop procurement schedules, drawing schedules, technical submittal schedules, RFI schedules, financial cost forecasting, and labor forecasting with a mechanical bias.
- Formulate a detailed building services program in collaboration with the main contractor’s program, emphasizing mechanical systems.
- Act as the lead spokesperson on mechanical issues in site meetings.
- Plan, program, organize, and monitor contract progress, with a keen eye on mechanical aspects.
- Oversee all mechanical building services and working practices, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Implement risk management strategies, particularly focusing on mechanical elements.
- Maintain close working relationships with clients and partners, ensuring a mechanical focus and customer satisfaction.
- Provide technical support and expertise to the internal project team, emphasizing mechanical systems, and advise the client team accordingly.
- Manage variation costing and control in collaboration with Quantity Surveyors and the main contractor, with a focus on mechanical components.
- Ensure a smooth mechanical handover to the client and provide aftercare support.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as aMEP Project Manager with a competitor contractor.
- Valid CSCS Card and SMSTS certification, with a mechanical emphasis.
- Experience working on MEP projects with a strong focus on mechanical systems, particularly in residential projects.
- Trustworthiness, reliability, conscientiousness, and a strong drive for career advancement with a mechanical bias.
- Highly motivated individual with excellent teamwork skills, emphasizing collaboration within mechanical aspects.
- Consistent employment record, with a minimum of two years at each employer, preferably with a mechanical emphasis.
