Job summary

King and Moffatt Building Services in Bristol is seeking an experienced MEP Project Director to lead a technically complex, high‑value project (£20m+) across mechanical, electrical and public health systems. You will oversee the full lifecycle from pre‑construction through handover, ensuring technical excellence, commercial performance and strong leadership of cross‑discipline teams.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading complex MEP projects.
• Strong commercial and contract management experience.
• Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership across one or multiple complex projects or programmes.
• Oversee full lifecycle from pre-construction through handover.
• Define and implement delivery strategies aligned with programme, commercial, safety and quality objectives.
• Own project Profit & Loss and forecasts.
• Lead monthly CVRs with the commercial team.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks while maximising opportunities.
• Oversee variation and change management with proper costing.
• Develop and manage detailed contract programmes.
• Align M&E works with main contractor/client programmes.
• Monitor programme performance and implement recovery plans.
• Lead senior project teams and ensure appropriate resourcing.
• Oversee procurement strategies and early engagement with suppliers.
• Act as senior point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
• Lead progress, commercial and risk meetings with clear updates.
• Build long-term client relationships to support repeat business.
• Maintain risk registers and manage project risks.
• Lead resolution of complex technical, commercial and programme challenges.
• Provide leadership on Health, Safety & Quality governance.
• Ensure RAMS are approved and communicated.
• Drive a culture of quality and right-first-time delivery.
• Oversee commissioning strategies and handover readiness.
• Manage project close-out and client training.
• Provide regular reporting on performance and risks.
• Lead post-project reviews and lessons learned.
