Job description

We are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking technical services manager (MEP Manager) with CAT A and CAT B fit out experience, to join our established and growing team in London. The technical services manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the relevant package, including design, procurement, contract governance, preconstruction, mobilisation, commercial aspects, planning, and delivery through to hand over. They will lead a safety-first culture in all package management processes and collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders.

Project:

A combined CAT A and CAT B fit out project, working with Mace Interiors to deliver innovative, sustainable, and technically advanced commercial office fit outs in London.

Your responsibilities will include:
  1. Managing all elements of the defined package, from design to delivery into service.
  2. Ensuring compliance with precontract, contract governance, mobilisation, construction, delivery, and handover requirements, including managing subcontractors accordingly.
  3. Promoting a collaborative environment among team members, stakeholders, and the supply chain.
  4. Establishing and maintaining site organization and facilitating effective communication with the employer’s representatives.
  5. Ensuring timely issuance of reports and information as per SWI documentation, including providing narratives for client reports.
  6. Leading the programme and production control processes related to your package.
  7. Monitoring the programme, advising the project lead proactively on any slippage to enable timely actions.
  8. Participating in decision-making regarding cost and programme, considering the overall project impact.
  9. Assisting in programme preparation, understanding critical path activities, system constraints, and interdependencies.
  10. Reviewing and commenting on design information to ensure buildability and operability.
  11. Ensuring all on-site works are conducted safely, including conducting weekly health and safety tours and recording issues on Yellow Jacket.
  12. Ensuring method statements and risk assessments are prepared and approved before work commencement.
  13. Leading quality assurance for your package.
  14. Ensuring snag-free handovers and timely completion of works, including snagging clearance.
About you

You will hold a relevant degree in construction or project management, be digitally savvy, capable of building lasting client relationships, and able to lead motivated teams. A background in construction or project management and a desire to grow your career with opportunities at Mace are essential.
