Our client is a first-generation Construction Company operating across Ireland, UK, and Northern Europe. We specialize in Critical Environments such as Data Centres, Life Sciences, Aviation, High-Value Manufacturing, and Critical Logistics.

We are seeking a senior MEP Lead to join our team in London, overseeing MEP deliverables for the Data Centre Sector.

This project will be executed in phases, including main building works such as large diameter pile installation, ground beam substructure and pile caps, a heavy structural steel frame (9 floors), composite cladding and rainscreen, two precast concrete central core areas, MEP infrastructure, full fitout of data halls on levels 1 & 2 with associated plant, below ground drainage, critical services infrastructure, external works, a Link Bridge to the existing campus north building, and a single-storey security gatehouse.

Purpose of Role:

You will manage all aspects of MEP design, procurement, installation, and commissioning across multiple projects. You will lead and develop a team of MEP engineers, contractors, and consultants, ensuring quality and compliance of MEP works.

This senior role offers significant potential to influence the company's strategic goals. You will collaborate with stakeholders, propose innovative solutions, and enhance our reputation in MEP services.

Role Responsibilities:

  1. Lead a team of Mechanical, Electrical, and commissioning engineers.
  2. Build a network of suppliers, MEP contractors, and consultants.
  3. Develop and implement procurement and delivery strategies for MEP projects.
  4. Ensure quality and compliance of MEP design, procurement, installation, and commissioning.
  5. Review drawings, specifications, and schedules for accuracy.
  6. Propose design alternatives and develop engineered solutions.
  7. Monitor procurement, delivery, and commissioning progress, aligning with the project schedule.
  8. Coordinate and optimize MEP installation to reduce waste.
  9. Prepare and monitor technical submittals for client approval.
  10. Monitor LEED and BREEAM requirements and submissions.
  11. Prepare operation and maintenance manuals.
  12. Oversee the commissioning process to meet client requirements and milestones.
  13. Organize and lead client demonstrations.

The Candidate:

  • Willingness to travel internationally.
  • Relevant engineering degree and leadership experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years in similar roles within MC/Management Contractors, large engineering firms, or consulting.
  • Proven longevity in previous roles.
  • Strong knowledge of digital technology, MEP standards, and regulations.
  • Commercial awareness and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to attract, lead, and develop engineering teams.
  • Experience reviewing client designs and providing value-added solutions.
  • Proactive and collaborative working style with stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
