Job summary

Winthrop Technologies Ltd. is seeking a senior MEP Lead to head a multidisciplinary team in the UK. You will drive delivery of mechanical, electrical and building services for large-scale data centre projects across Europe, ensuring quality, safety and programme targets are met.

You will lead subcontractors, coordinate with the design and site teams, and advocate continuous improvement in cost efficiency and build quality. A degree in a relevant field and 10+ years of experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Mechanical/Electrical/Building Services or similar.
• 10+ years of experience in the MEP construction sector with strong leadership.
• Proven experience managing Mechanical and Electrical systems on large-scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of MEP coordination, sequencing and programme delivery.
• Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills.
• Strong understanding of MEP installation methodologies and commissioning processes.
• Proven ability to lead subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers and Construction Managers.
• Propose design changes to improve cost efficiency, schedule, and quality.
• Monitor construction quality of works and materials.
• Coordinate with contracts manager, site engineers and discipline leads for timely information.
• Check drawings and specifications; raise errors to design team promptly.

• Lead a team of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers and Construction Managers
• Proposing suitable changes to design to improve cost efficiency, ease construction programme, and to enhance specification and quality completion
• Display commercial astuteness
• Monitor construction, regarding quality of workmanship and materials
• Coordinate and liaise with contracts manager, site engineers and other discipline leads to ensure that all subcontractors and site personnel have timely and accurate information
• Check and ensure understanding of drawings and specifications. Ensure that any errors/omissions are formally communicated to the design team in a timely manner

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or similar discipline
• 10 + years’ experience within the MEP construction sector, with a strong leadership background
• Proven experience managing Mechanical and Electrical systems on large-scale construction project
• Strong knowledge of MEP coordination, sequencing, and programme delivery
• Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
• Strong technical understanding of MEP systems, installation methodologies, and commissioning processes
• Proven ability to lead subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects successfully
• Data centre project experience is highly desirable
