At Arcadis, we focus on attracting, retaining, and developing people who share our passion and commitment to improve quality of life. We offer opportunities to transform your world and the world around you, through client work, upskilling, championing equality and inclusion, or charity involvement. Our people value different perspectives, care about sustainability, and dare to shape the future. One of our core values is people first, supported by our Lovinklaan foundation, investing in your long-term growth to help you reach your full potential. You will have the opportunity to own your career and work on industry-defining projects that make a difference.
Role description
The role is suited for applicants with a strong building services engineering background, gained through MEP contracting, consulting, or facilities management. The candidate should have good working knowledge of commercial mechanical, electrical, and public health installations, along with understanding of MEP regulations and standards.
Within our Technical Due Diligence (TDD) team in the Lenders, Investors & Insurers Sector, the MEP Engineering Surveyor will support building services surveying and technical assessments across residential, commercial, and light industrial properties.
The primary role involves assessing services installations (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Electrical, Vertical transportation, Drainage, etc.), understanding their design and condition, and providing insights into their performance and operational risks through non-intrusive inspections, reviewing maintenance and compliance certifications, identifying defects, and assessing lifecycle replacement needs. The role also includes evaluating commercial factors affecting investments, risks, lease considerations, and recommending mitigation strategies.
The Surveyor will conduct inspections, prepare defect reports, and engage with clients. For larger portfolios, support in management and coordination with suppliers will be necessary to ensure quality and timely delivery.
This role offers a chance to develop core MEP knowledge, understanding lease structures, and asset management strategies. The successful candidate will become part of our Asset Assurance and Management team, providing technical advice and project monitoring services.
