Job Description: MEP Design & Analysis Engineer, West Bromwich

Who we are looking for:

The Project Design & Analysis Engineer will oversee the entire product portfolio, involved in designing and verifying Frame and prefabricated modular designs from early stages to project delivery, including MMOC and offsite manufacturing.

This role involves engaging with customers, producing conceptual designs of MEP bracketry packages, participating in design reviews, and conducting model validation, including clash detection, structural design, and stress analysis. Optimization of customer designs is also a key responsibility.

The engineer will manage the full design process—from customer model interrogation, CAD design, BOM creation, manufacturing drawing creation, to structural analysis for validation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design using Autodesk Inventor, including Frame Generator and FEA.
  • Design for manufacture considering existing manufacturing processes.
  • Implement Modern Method of Construction, Design, and Delivery Strategy.
  • Perform load and stress calculations.
  • Provide day-to-day design support for internal and external sales teams.
  • Create data sheets for standard products.
  • Offer technical support for customer queries.
  • Develop initial and budget costings based on designs.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Preferred experience in mechanical and electrical site environments.
  • Proven experience in calculation stress analysis and FEA.
  • Proficiency in CAD environments, especially Inventor, Navisworks, Revit.
  • Experience with Ansys, Frame Generator, Nastran for stress analysis.
  • Understanding of structural implications of MEP designs.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, CRM systems.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing principles.
