Overview

Fantastic opportunity for an M&E Construction Manager to join our Life Science team in Macclesfield.

Reporting to the Regional Director / RBSM/SBSM, the BSM has responsibility for the delivery of Building Services Systems across designated large and/or multiple smaller-scale projects that are on time, on budget, and meet the company's Zero objectives of Safety, Quality, and Energy.

Using the company's MEP Management Systems and Procedures, the goal is to deliver fully integrated and commissioned MEP systems that meet the specified design and statutory requirements, ensuring seamless handover with optimal building system performance.

Responsibilities

• Promote the application of Building Services Department Management Systems and Procedures, providing technical support, guidance, and direction for project delivery.
• Support the Building Services “Value Proposition” aligned with Business Units and the company's vision, values, and objectives.
• Assist in delivering the Building Services Strategy Plan and objectives.
• Support the tendering and awarding of MEP packages in line with project pre-construction and procurement strategies.
• Ensure temporary electrical requirements, including load and energy assessments, adhere to Management System Guidelines.
• Take responsibility for MEP integration and project delivery as part of the overall project team.
• Manage MEP elements in accordance with Building Services Management Procedures and specific Project Execution Plans (PEP).
• Ensure finalization of Building Services installation and commissioning programs are aligned with the main construction schedule.
• Engage with utility companies early to understand and adhere to infrastructural and interface requirements.
• Coordinate and approve builders' works drawings from MEP contractors to meet program requirements.
• Track equipment and plant from submittal approval through to installation.

Experience

• Experience managing large-scale, complex MEP projects.
• Understanding of MEP supply chain market dynamics.
• Operational involvement in all project phases: estimating, pre-construction, installation, commissioning, and handover.
• Technical, interpersonal, and commercial skills to deliver MEP projects successfully.
• Knowledge of H&S policies and live energy practices, demonstrating positive safety behaviors.
• Experience with QMS systems, ITPs, commissioning, and handover plans.
• Proactive and driven to complete all tasks for project delivery.
• Strong communication skills and understanding of H&S policies and practices.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Services, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Membership of professional institutions such as CIBSE, CIOB, IEI, or equivalent.
• IOSH or similar H&S Management Training.
• Planning and programming expertise.
• Training in live energies or arc flash safety.
