Job summary

YTL Construction UK is seeking an experienced MEP Construction Manager to lead on-site delivery of MEP works for major Bristol projects, including the redevelopment of Brabazon Hangars into a premier entertainment venue. You will manage a team of engineers, oversee safety, quality and schedule, and coordinate with design consultants and subcontractors to ensure seamless handover.

• CSCS Manager card and SMSTS or equivalent health & safety qualification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of MEP construction works on assigned projects.
• Ensure safe, high-quality, on-time, cost-effective delivery from pre-construction to handover.
• Lead MEP planning, sequencing and coordination across trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, ELV).
• Coordinate with project management, consultants, subcontractors and wider delivery team.

We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) Construction Manager to oversee and monitor the successful delivery of MEP construction works across major projects and oversee a team of engineers.

Once home to every UK-built Concorde, the Brabazon Hangars are being repurposed into a brand-new venue for Bristol and set to be the South West's top destination for music, comedy, sports and entertainment.

In this leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery, maintenance and optimisation of projects, ensuring operational efficiency, high performance standards and successful project outcomes.

What you'll do

You will:

• be responsible for the coordination, on-site execution and delivery of all MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works) on assigned construction projects
• ensure safe, high-quality, cost-effective and on-schedule delivery of MEP systems from pre-construction to commissioning and handover
• act as the secondary MEP authority during the construction stage on methodology, compliance, stakeholder alignment and integrated system commissioning
• manage the MEP works in large-scale residential, commercial or infrastructure developments
• work closely with MEP project management, design consultants, subcontractors and the wider project delivery team.

Your core responsibilities will include:

• leading the on-site delivery of MEP construction activities in line with programme, cost, safety and quality objectives
• developing and implementing MEP construction execution plans, site logistics, method statements, and phasing strategies
• overseeing the mobilisation, sequencing and installation of all MEP trades (HVAC, plumbing, drainage, LV/HV electrical systems, fire protection, and ELV)
• working with the project planner to develop, update and monitor the MEP programme
• assisting in the procurement of MEP subcontractors and suppliers, including scope definition and tender review
• ensuring subcontractors are fully briefed on scope, deliverables and commercial constraints
• reviewing and coordinating MEP shop drawings, builders' work drawings, RAMS, method statements and material submittals
• ensuring installation works comply with design intent, statutory standards (such as UK Building Regulations, BS/EN), and client specifications
• leading quality inspections and snagging of MEP works, driving closure of NCRs and punch lists
• promoting and enforcing high standards of HSE on-site in line with project and corporate policies.

What you'll need

As an experienced MEP Construction Manager, you will have a strong understanding of MEP systems, UK building codes, and industry best practices.

You will have the experience and ability to deliver high-value MEP packages of over £5m on projects valued over £20m.

Your core qualities will include leadership, team management, communication skills, stakeholder engagement and subcontractor coordination.

You will be proficient in reading and interpreting MEP drawings, technical specifications, and coordination models (2D, 3D, BIM).

You will ideally be degree qualified in mechanical or electrical engineering; however, other qualifications with relevant experience will also be considered.

A relevant CSCS manager's card will be required, along with SMSTS or an equivalent health and safety qualification.
