We are representing a growing team who are actively looking for good people to share the journey with! Our client focuses on Commissioning Management and Project Management. The largest duty is managing the commissioning process to ensure a smooth process and delivery.

As a result of new project wins, they are seeking to hire a MEP Commissioning Manager to join the team on a major 100MW Data Centre in Acton. The data centre will be occupied by one of the largest blue chip clients. They require a driven individual who has previous experience working for large tier 1 contractors.

Description:

To provide strategic and tactical building services commissioning management support to the project team for the engineering process of a project primarily on commercial and critical environment projects. Focusing on quality in all aspects of commissioning management, including: planning, programming, reporting, collaborative working and witnessing.

General Duties:

As a Commissioning Manager, you will manage and drive the commissioning process and lead the on-site functional testing. To succeed in this role, it is important that you have experience in technical buildings, good communication, people skills, and resourcefulness.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the commissioning process with the contractors and professional teams ensuring effective communication takes place within the wider project management team. Manage the proper compliance of the project process at each stage.
  2. Perform commissionability and design reviews.
  3. Implement and manage quality assurance (QA) and quality controls (QC) procedures with respect to all aspects of the commissioning process.
  4. Issue weekly commissioning reports.
  5. Write, compile and provide technical input to the formal change control processes.
  6. Ensure that regular reviews of construction against the approved design take place and any mitigation/recovery plans are implemented.
  7. Manage, coordinate, review and input to the commissioning procedures and review commissioning RAMS prior to commissioning activities.
  8. Attend and report on commissioning and testing as appropriate.
  9. Ensure that all plant/systems have been fully commissioned/inspected in line with the contract specifications.
  10. Monitor and advise when all the commissioning documentation has been reviewed and signed off by the appointed consultants for the project.
  11. Review commissioning data against design parameters.
  12. Ensure all parties are coordinated for attending witnessing.
  13. Provide input to the project risk register.
  14. Coordinate, plan and schedule training with the project team and ensure all documentation is created and approved in ample time.
  15. Organise, chair and minute commissioning meetings, ensuring actions are issued, managed and closed out.
  16. Review and assist sub-contractors in the development of all project-related QA/QC documentation.
  17. Write test scripts and integrated systems test (IST) scripts and coordinate, ensuring input from all parties throughout the project.
  18. Witness on-site functional testing of plant, equipment and systems.
  19. Ensure that all appropriate commissioning handover documentation has been reviewed and approved prior to handover.
  20. Ensure that commissioning defects are communicated properly and dealt with.
  21. Compile Close out documentation.
  22. Create and manage handover commissioning checklists and close-out report.
  23. Pass comment on contractors SOO (sequence of operations) schedules.
  24. Pass comment on O&M manuals produced by the contractor.
