Job summary

Crown House Technologies seeks an MEP Commercial Manager for the Stansted Airport Transformation Programme. The role is based in Stansted and covers a major MEP package for the airport development. The employer is Laing O'Rourke's specialist MEP delivery business.

The manager will lead commercial work through pre-construction and construction, prepare cost reports and forecasts, and review contracts. NEC knowledge and a relevant degree are required; RICS status preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in MEP commercial management with a contractor or main contractor.
• Strong NEC contract knowledge and capability to review complex agreements.
• Degree in quantity surveying or commercial management is required.
• RICS membership or progress towards chartered status is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial work through pre-construction and construction phases.
• Prepare cost reports and forecasts for project leadership.
• Review contracts and advise project teams on contractual matters.
• Support budget setting and financial control for the programme.

The permanent position is based in Stansted and covers a major mechanical, electrical and public-health package on the airport development.

The manager will lead commercial work through pre-construction and construction, prepare cost reports and forecasts, and review contracts.

Responsibilities include:

• procurement
• subcontract administration

• claims
• change control

The recruit will advise project teams on contractual matters, support budget setting and financial control, and elevate commercial risks when necessary. Relationships with clients, subcontractors and other project participants form part of the role, as does developing junior commercial staff. The employer welcomes experienced Senior Commercial Managers and Commercial Managers ready for greater responsibility.

Applicants need MEP commercial-management experience gained with a specialist contractor or main contractor, along with strong NEC contract knowledge. A relevant degree in quantity surveying or commercial management is required. Candidates should be able to manage financial performance and commercial delivery while supporting the wider project team.

RICS membership or progress towards chartered status is preferred.
