Are you a Commercial Manager with MEP experience looking for an exciting new opportunity? Do you have previous experience working on healthcare or defence projects? If yes, Laing O'Rourke has a role for you!

The Opportunity:

Crown House Technologies, the specialist MEP delivery unit of Laing O'Rourke, is recruiting a Commercial Manager for projects across Brighton and Surrey.

We provide solutions for sectors such as healthcare, defense, science & research, residential, commercial, rail, and data centres, through Laing O'Rourke's self-delivery model.

We are involved in Stage 1 of The Royal Sussex County Hospital's ‘3Ts redevelopment' programme, a new 13-storey hospital with rooftop helideck.

Role Overview:

  • Manage all commercial aspects of project sections, including liaising with clients, project teams, and managing sub-contractors.
  • Provide commercial, contractual, and financial management to meet profit objectives and optimize cash flow and margins.
  • Support operational planning and promote best practices.
  • Lead commercial activities during pre-construction and construction phases to ensure project success.
  • Develop the skills of your team and support the wider commercial function.
  • Prepare and manage contractual reports, manage subcontracts, and handle claims.
  • Monitor project costs and manage project resources.
  • Negotiate with clients, subcontractors, and consultants to achieve project goals.
  • Advise on contractual and commercial risks and implications.
  • Assist in establishing project budgets and change management processes.
  • Ensure proper execution of contract documents before project start.
  • Report any issues or risks that could impact the project or business.
