Job description

Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced CAD Technician with a strong background in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Building Services. This role involves producing high-quality service drawings to support our MEP Engineers across a diverse portfolio of projects, including:

  • Educational facilities (schools and universities)
  • Residential developments (multi-storey accommodation)
  • Local government buildings
  • Commercial schemes (office spaces)

We are a well established MEP construction consultancy with over 250 employees and offices in Eltham, Manchester, and Birminghamdelivering national coverage. We provide a full suite of services including Architecture, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, M&E Engineering, Sustainability Consulting, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate flexibly within a multidisciplinary team to meet project deliverables.
  • Support project leads across all RIBA work stages.
  • Produce accurate technical drawings and computations as required.
  • Stay up to date with industry developments and maintain CPD commitments.
  • Adhere to internal procedures including document filing, CAD layering standards, intranet updates, and general administrative tasks.
  • Escalate any legal, contractual, or financial matters to a Partner.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2D and Revit 3D.
  • Current workload is approximately 95% 2D and 5% 3D, with a gradual shift anticipated towards 3D.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • City and Guilds Certificate in Computer Aided Design (2D and 3D) is an advantage.
