Job summary

Graham in Liverpool seeks an Assistant Building Services Manager to support the Building Services team from tender through project completion and aftercare. This graduate-facing role requires a degree in Architectural Technology or a related field, with strong communication and collaboration skills.

You will assist with MEP design coordination, attend client meetings, and help ensure buildability and compliance across projects.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified, or due to graduate in 2027, in Architectural Technology or related built environment discipline with a technical/construction focus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a project team.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Willingness to travel across UK project locations.
• Previous construction industry placements or internships.
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical building services systems.
• Awareness of construction project delivery processes and building regulations.
• Knowledge of BIM and digital construction technologies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with reviewing mechanical and electrical designs during pre-construction and construction stages for compliance and buildability.
• Coordinate and manage MEP design information across projects.
• Attend project meetings with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Assist project teams in managing the quality and coordination of MEP installations on site.
• Provide technical support to site management in resolving building services issues during construction.
• Ensure alignment of building structures and programmes with MEP installation requirements.
• Review technical submissions, RFIs, and design documents from supply chain partners.
• Support development and implementation of commissioning plans.
• Assist with reviewing inspection and test plans for MEP installations.
• Coordinate installation, testing and commissioning programmes with overall project schedules.
• Assist in managing commissioning and client training prior to handover.
• Contribute to project reporting, programme monitoring and technical issue resolution.
