GBS Global Applied Knowledge is seeking a Mentoring Coordinator to oversee the Professional Mentoring Programme. This role involves recruiting mentors and mentees, managing relationships, and ensuring training and development for participants. What We Do: The Employability and Entrepreneurship Department at GBS is dedicated to preparing students for successful careers and business ventures. It offers tailored one-to-one guidance, a dynamic online Careers Hub via Handshake, and a structured Employability Award that builds critical job-seeking skills through Bronze to Platinum levels. Students gain practical experience in CV building, networking, and real job applications, including tools like ChatGPT.
The role: The Mentoring Coordinator will oversee the successful delivery of the Professional Mentoring Programme at their designated campus. This includes recruiting and matching mentors and mentees, managing relationships, and raising awareness of the programme among students, staff, and external organisations. The role is critical to fostering meaningful mentoring relationships that enhance students’ personal and professional development.
Please note, this role will occasionally require travel to local regional campuses. Outside of London this includes GBS campuses in Leeds, Birmingham and Manchester. Inside of London this would cover all GBS London campuses.

What the role involves:
• Coordinate and administer the Professional Mentoring Programme, ensuring efficient mentee and mentor recruitment, matching, and ongoing support for participants.
• Manage all administrative tasks related to the mentoring programme, including scheduling, documentation, and compliance with programme guidelines.
Mentor and Mentee Recruitment
• Actively recruit mentors and mentees, using a CRM system and other methods to identify and approach potential mentors.
• Develop strategies to attract diverse and high-quality mentors willing to volunteer to support students.
Relationship Management
• Maintain regular communication with mentors and mentees to ensure a positive experience and address any challenges that arise during the mentoring process.
Training and Development
• Ensure all mentors and mentees complete their training activities accurately and efficiently.
• Deliver onboarding and training sessions to prepare participants for their roles and responsibilities in the programme.
Awareness and Promotion
• Raise awareness of the mentoring programme through presentations, workshops and
Growth and Sustainability
• Support the growth of the mentor network by building relationships with professionals and alumni.
Monitoring and Reporting
• Track and report on key metrics, including participation rates, engagement levels, and programme outcomes.
What Experience/Skills are required:
• A degree in Education, Careers Guidance, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in coordinating mentoring or coaching programmes, preferably in an educational setting.
• Demonstrated success in recruiting and managing volunteers or participants in structured programmes.
• Experience using CRM systems for data management and communication.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
• Ability to deliver engaging presentations and training sessions.
• Flexible and adaptable, able to work across campuses in the local region and occasionally work during evenings or weekends when needed.
• Relevant certifications in mentoring, coaching, or programme management are advantageous.
