Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Mental Health Care Assistant to work within a mental health hospital in Carlisle, Cumbria. The hospital provides a range of clinical services including adult long stay rehabilitation, psychiatric intensive care, dementia, mental health crisis services, and community mental health services for people with learning disabilities or autism.

This role is fully flexible, allowing you to work around any commitments and promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Role Details:
  • Band: 3 Mental Healthcare Assistant
  • Location: Carlisle, Cumbria
  • Start Date: Immediate/ASAP
  • Pay Rates: £16.13p/h ltd. - £22.00p/h ltd (£13.69p/h - 19.94p/h PAYE inclusive of holiday pay)
  • Duration: Ongoing, AdHoc basis
  • Shift Patterns: Earlies, Lates, Long Days, Nights
The Role:
  • Providing one-on-one support to individuals with mental health conditions such as Schizophrenia, Personality Disorders, and other severe mental illnesses.
  • Assisting individuals in daily activities to promote independence.
  • Making patients feel comfortable and calm.
The Person:
  • Minimum 12 months UK experience working as a Mental Healthcare Assistant in a residential or inpatient setting.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in Control and Restraint or PMVA training is beneficial but not essential.
  • International applicants are unfortunately not considered.
