CJP Outreach Services are currently recruiting for an experienced team leader to lead on a package in Weston-Super-Mare.

For this position it is essential that you have a background in supporting people with complex metal health needs, such as psychosis, bipolar disorder) and autism.

Ideally your experience will be in community settings, such as supported living and/or residential care. Knowledge of working within a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework would be an advantage.

You will play a pivotal role in leading a team who support a sweet natured, captivating and humorous gentleman. This person is supported on a 2:1 basis in his own home. The person has a love for crazy golf, amusement arcades, board games, strolls on the beach, playing pool and visiting the pub.

As our team leader you will be responsible for providing leadership to support staff within the package. This includes supervising staff, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and following best practice. You will work closely with the Registered Manager and Case Manager to maintain standards and enhance the wellbeing of the person you are supporting.

As a Team leader there will be an expectation to attend Bristol for management meetings and training.

You should be fun, upbeat and have a naturally bubbly personality, while also being able to remain, calm, relaxed and resilient.

Key Duties:

  • Ensure the persons preferences are central to the support delivery, promoting their wellbeing.
  • Implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies to improve quality of life and reduce behaviours of concern.
  • Collaborating with the person to create and implement tailored support plans.
  • Organise and coordinate delivery of support.
  • Supervise staff to ensure an efficient team who contribute to service improvements.
  • Promote and protect the welfare and rights of the person, maintaining effective working relationships within the team.
  • Audit medication, support and finance procedures, recommending and implementing improvements as needed.
  • Complete assessments, support plans, and related documentation in compliance with best practice and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in personal and professional growth opportunities, including training and supervision of staff.
  • Work closely with your colleagues, the family, external professionals, and other agencies to ensure holistic care for the person.
  • Contribute to out-of-hours, on-call support and attend required training sessions.
  • The roll will include the occasional sleep-in duty and some weekend hours.
  • Conducting Inductions

Qualifications and skills:

  • Previous experience in a similar environment, ideally in a leadership role.
  • Experience supporting people with complex mental health needs and autism.
  • Experience of working within a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework would be an ideal advantage.
  • Knowledge of rota planning.
  • Knowledge and experience of performance management.
  • Understanding of person-centred support.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt.
  • Empathy, kindness, and a commitment to providing a caring, supportive service.
  • Willingness to learn, share ideas, and improve outcomes for service users.
