This specialist school in Slough is looking for a Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join their team for the new academic year starting September 2025!
This role involves providing tailored emotional and mental health support to students, helping them navigate their feelings, build resilience, and develop coping strategies. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to create a supportive and safe environment for students.
The students in this setting have social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH), are between ages 4 and 11, and have experienced adverse childhood experiences leading to mental health challenges and nervous system dysregulation. The school seeks individuals who can support students in processing their thoughts and feelings and regulating emotions.
Your responsibilities include fostering positive relationships, promoting trust and emotional safety, and collaborating with parents and caregivers for guidance and support.
